Shit when you put only the rap albums into a 3x3 the shit looks boring. Most of the covers here are pretty uninteresting, with the exceptions of Clipse and Mystikal. If you haven't heard these albums before I'll give you a little bit of a synopsis of each one, real bite-sized so you don't get bored.Mystikal - Unpredictable
As I've said before this man is one of the best rappers I've ever heard. Some of these verses make you wonder how the fuck he's making these noises with his mouth. Man is a beast. Some of the No Limit trappings of this album, like the beats and Master P features, can get a bit boring, but the man himself is nuts enough to make this a solid offering.Jay-Z - The Dynasty
I was very skeptical of this one but Jay-Z can really really rap and so can Beanie Siegel. Still not convinced about Memphis Bleek, but it's okay. "This Can't Be Life" brings some serious tears to my eyes, Scarface's verse is one of his most touching and gets me right in the heart. This is an excellent album to showcase Jay's transition from the "sellout Jay" of the late 90s to someone who was more interested in making albums again. Nice.Devin the Dude - Just Tryin' Ta Live
This is the best album on here, sorry y'all. Devin is the man. On here he raps from the perspectives of aliens and elementary school kids and rednecks and women who are tired of him rubbing his balls on their kneecaps, and it's one of the weirdest and most glorious rap albums I've ever heard. He's not a monster spitter or anything, but he can sing and rap with a sort of emotional precision, like he always knows what to say. Sort of like Scarface or Pac or Pimp could. Five star album right here, I love it.Cam'Ron - Purple Haze
Killa! Lots have been said about this one, it's great and Cam is great, really not much I can add other than I fuck with it.Slim Thug - Already Platinum
The combo of a Houston rapper over Neptunes beats can be super awkward at times, but Slim Thug is a good enough rapper to pull it off. Dude has presence. "Diamonds" is far and away the best shit on here, with the slow-crawl Texas vibe that I love so much, but there's a lot of good stuff on here, not least of all killer features from T.I., Bun B, Pusha T, and more. This guy can carry an album.Curren$y & The Alchemist - Covert Coup
Not as big a fan of The Alchemist as I am of Harry Fraud or Ski Beatz but this is solid. His darker production kind of makes Curren$y rap more aggressively, and I really like that side of him and wish we could see it more. Good features too, though I must say the Gibbs verse is pretty damn overrated (on hhh you know how the shit is) and Prodigy and Fiend are also great. Mainly this is a short and sweet album and Curren$y is a hero.Gucci Mane - Woptober
Filthy grimy shkreet Gucci is pretty great, and this is a great offering because of it. The icy winter sound is something you can really feel on tracks like "Out the Zoo." Like on Everybody Looking
I think the features are almost 100% unnecessary, but they don't necessarily make the tracks worse I guess. This is a completely different style from the commercial-ready Mike Will/Zaytoven beats on the previous album, and I like Gucci a lot right now.Clipse - Lord Willin'
Good. Not Hell Hath No Fury,
but it's still Push and Malice so it's an awesome album. Probably better features than HHNF though, especially Jadakiss, Fabolous, and Styles P.Future - Honest
My favorite Future album thus far. "Sh!t" is hard as fuck.
